Treatment Coordination Abroad

Cardiac Surgery Abroad

We arrange coronary bypass surgery, heart valve replacement, and minimally invasive procedures such as TAVI and coronary stenting at JCI-accredited hospitals in Turkey, India, and South Korea.

Why Patients Choose Heart Surgery Abroad

Patients choose international cardiac centres for faster access to treatment and advanced technologies. In Germany, coronary bypass surgery or valve replacement may cost from €40,000 and involve months of waiting. At JCI-accredited hospitals in Turkey, similar procedures may cost around $14,000–19,000, with surgery often arranged within 5–7 days after the first hospital review. Leading cardiac surgeons in Turkey, India, and South Korea perform thousands of procedures each year and have extensive experience with complex heart surgery.

Main Types of Heart Surgery Abroad

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting — CABG

A bypass is created to restore blood flow around blocked coronary arteries. In selected cases, the operation can be performed on a beating heart using an off-pump technique, without a heart-lung machine. Many patients begin mobilisation the next day.

Coronary Stenting

A narrowed artery is widened using a small metal mesh tube called a stent, inserted through a puncture in the wrist or groin. Most patients are discharged within 24 hours.

Heart Valve Replacement

Surgical replacement of a damaged heart valve with a mechanical or biological valve. Mechanical valves can last for decades but require anticoagulant medication. Biological valves typically function for 15–20 years and may require less intensive long-term medication.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation — TAVI

A major advance in cardiology. The aortic valve is replaced without opening the chest. A folded biological valve is delivered to the heart through a blood vessel in the groin. TAVI is often suitable for patients who are not candidates for open-heart surgery. Discharge is usually possible within 3–5 days.

MitraClip for Mitral Regurgitation

A special clip is placed on the mitral valve through a catheter, without stopping the heart. The procedure is available at selected leading hospitals in Istanbul.

Radiofrequency Ablation

A treatment for complex heart rhythm disorders. The specialist identifies the source of abnormal electrical impulses and destroys it using controlled radiofrequency energy. In selected arrhythmias, effectiveness may reach around 80% after the first procedure.

Aortic Surgery

Treatment for life-threatening aortic conditions, including aneurysm and aortic dissection. Procedures are performed in hybrid operating theatres where open surgery can be combined with endovascular stent graft placement.

Steps for Organising Treatment Abroad

  • Send us your available medical reports, test results, and scans. Our medical coordinator organises your case and arranges professional medical translation into English.

  • We contact specialists at relevant hospitals. You receive official treatment programmes with detailed cost estimates. We review each option with you and help you make an informed decision.

  • You do not need to worry about the logistics. We coordinate admission dates, assist with flights, arrange airport transfers, and organise comfortable accommodation.

  • From your first day at the hospital, you are supported by a dedicated medical interpreter. We coordinate communication with the hospital team and help ensure treatment follows the agreed care plan.

  • Our support continues after discharge. We assist with recovery planning, translate final medical reports, and help arrange remote follow-up consultations after you return home.
