Hospital Overview
Indraprastha Apollo Hospital is the flagship hospital of the Apollo Group in Delhi and one of the most recognised medical centres in Asia. Patients from more than 100 countries travel here for the treatment of complex conditions. As the first hospital in India to receive JCI accreditation, Apollo has played a major role in shaping international healthcare standards and medical tourism across the region.
Opened in 1996, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital was one of the pioneering projects that helped establish India as a global medical tourism destination. From its earliest years, the hospital focused on international treatment protocols, digital healthcare systems, and advanced clinical standards. Today, the 15-acre campus integrates diagnostics, complex surgery, rehabilitation, and specialised medical services within a single location.
The hospital is particularly recognised for complex surgery, organ transplantation, oncology, cardiac surgery, and neurosurgery. Its transplant programme includes liver and pancreas transplantation alongside other advanced procedures. For patients with serious medical conditions, treatment plans are reviewed by multidisciplinary teams that carefully evaluate each case and develop evidence-based recommendations tailored to the individual patient.
Apollo Hospital is equipped with advanced medical technologies used in leading international healthcare centres. Facilities include hybrid operating theatres, the da Vinci robotic surgery platform, PET-CT imaging, and 3-Tesla MRI systems. Oncology services are supported by Novalis Tx linear accelerators and advanced radiosurgery technologies. The hospital also continues to invest in telemedicine and digital healthcare solutions to improve patient access and treatment planning.
The hospital brings together many of India’s leading specialists, with numerous physicians having completed advanced training in the United States and the United Kingdom. Extensive experience treating international patients has enabled the medical team to develop expertise across a broad range of complex conditions. Dedicated international patient services provide coordinators and interpreters to support patients throughout their treatment journey in Delhi.
In 2005, Apollo became the first hospital in India to receive JCI accreditation, one of the world’s most recognised healthcare quality standards. The hospital also holds NABH accreditation and operates NABL-accredited laboratories. Strict adherence to international patient safety, infection control, and clinical quality protocols has established Apollo as one of South Asia’s most trusted destinations for international medical care.
