Hospital Overview

Koç University Hospital is one of Turkey’s leading medical centres, located in Istanbul. The hospital is accredited by JCI, is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network, and follows international treatment protocols in oncology, transplantation, cardiology, and neurosurgery. It is recognised for managing complex medical cases and caring for international patients.

  • Koç University Hospital opened in Istanbul in 2014. Built with the support of the Vehbi Koç Foundation, the 220,000 m² medical campus combines clinical care with advanced scientific research. Every year, thousands of international patients choose the hospital for accurate diagnosis, evidence-based treatment, and access to innovative medical protocols.

  • The hospital specialises in the treatment of complex conditions across oncology, cardiology, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery. It is also recognised as one of Turkey’s leading organ transplant centres. At the Comprehensive Cancer Center, treatment plans are developed by a multidisciplinary Tumor Board to ensure personalised care. The hospital is also known for its ARIES Minimally Invasive Surgery Center. This multidisciplinary approach allows specialists to identify the most effective treatment strategy, even in highly complex cases.

  • The medical centre is equipped to the standards of leading hospitals in the United States and Europe. Surgeons have access to 13 advanced operating theatres, while high-precision diagnostics are supported by 3-Tesla MRI systems and GE Discovery PET-CT technology. Patients benefit from a wide range of advanced treatment options, including robotic surgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, and state-of-the-art linear accelerators.

  • Koç University Hospital serves as the primary teaching hospital of Koç University School of Medicine. Patients are treated by leading Turkish professors and specialists, many of whom have received international training and fellowships. The medical team is actively involved in clinical research and among the first to implement innovative treatment approaches. Care is delivered according to evidence-based medicine principles, helping ensure high standards of safety, accuracy, and clinical outcomes for patients.

  • In 2024, Koç University Hospital became the first hospital in Europe to join the Mayo Clinic Care Network. This collaboration provides patients with access to expert second opinions from Mayo Clinic specialists when needed. The hospital’s commitment to quality and patient safety is reflected in its JCI accreditation and ISO certifications. International patients are supported by a dedicated services team, with interpreters available in more than 20 languages to ensure a smooth and comfortable treatment experience in Istanbul.
